Prestfest was an awesome weekend!  I spent all day on Saturday 2nd of August in The Eagle Tavern watching some pretty sound bands. Scott Nicol & the Limitless Sky (whom I have mentioned previously in my blog) were fantastic and the only band I saw who wrote their own songs and played original material. There were quite a few local bands at Prestfest whp played their own original music.  The other bands i saw were, Wildcard, with a f...

Portugal. The Man

Check out the band, Portugal. The Man.  Their music is a funky blend of groove tunes, soul music and a bit of everything else throw in for good measure.  Their album, In the Mountain, in the cloud has been the soundtrack to my summer, laid back, chilled, but with a dollop of upbeat to dance to should you wish.  They have a new album out just now called, Evil Friends. Be sure to check them out.  Find them on Facebook at

Have a listen to Glasgow based band Deathcats. Check them out on Facebook where you can listen to their new album 'All Hail Deathcats'. Catchy tunes, distorted vocals and layered throughout with fuzz. Love the dirty fuzz box, used by some of my favourite bands of the minute like Paws. Check out thier tunes off the new album, especially, Solid, DREAMZ, Danny Dyer, Saturday Night Golden Retriever and Troll Toll.  Saturday N...

I've been listening to "All of Me" by Tanlines for the past few days now. It's on my Indie Love Affair playlist on Spotify and it reminds me of something but I can't quite place it. Can anybody help me out with it, please? It's a catchy tune and I'll probably be listening to it for a while yet. Check them out on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/tanlinestheband?fref=ts" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://https://www.facebook.com/tanlinestheband?fref=ts.

Check out local Scottish band, Model Aeroplanes. They are a mix of indie and pop and remind me a little of Two Door Cinema Club with a touch of The Kooks wrapped in a Scottish accentsand are set to be the band of the summer.  They have already enjoyed radio play on BBC Radio Scotland's Introducing show.  Check out their singles Electricity and Crazy.  Go to Videos to check out their single Crazy.
