Portugal. The Man

Check out the band, Portugal. The Man.  Their music is a funky blend of groove tunes, soul music and a bit of everything else throw in for good measure.  Their album, In the Mountain, in the cloud has been the soundtrack to my summer, laid back, chilled, but with a dollop of upbeat to dance to should you wish.  They have a new album out just now called, Evil Friends. Be sure to check them out.  Find them on Facebook at" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://

Have a listen to Glasgow based band Deathcats. Check them out on Facebook where you can listen to their new album 'All Hail Deathcats'. Catchy tunes, distorted vocals and layered throughout with fuzz. Love the dirty fuzz box, used by some of my favourite bands of the minute like Paws. Check out thier tunes off the new album, especially, Solid, DREAMZ, Danny Dyer, Saturday Night Golden Retriever and Troll Toll.  Saturday Night Golden Retriever was released as a single and video and is a fun, reverb fuelled piece of hardcore.

Line up includes, Model Aeroplanes, Deathcats, Hector Bizerk, Friends in America and many more. There are 4 venues and it should be an awesome event! I've been listening to "All of Me" by Tanlines for the past few days now. It's on my Indie Love Affair playlist on Spotify and it reminds me of something but I can't quite place it. Can anybody help me out with it, please? It's a catchy tune and I'll probably be listening to it for a while yet. Check them out on Facebook." target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://

Ok, so here is just a couple of the bands I have came accross in the past few days, all of them well woth a listen.  First up it's Glasgow band, Hello Creepy Spider with their debut single, "I don't wanna die ina fire".  This is one to get you up and bouncing about at a gig.  Check out the video live from Glasgow last November - go to the Video section at the top of the blog to check it out.

Also check out another Glasgow band, Prides and you can watch their video of the single, "Messiah" in my video section.

Check out local Scottish band, Model Aeroplanes. They are a mix of indie and pop and remind me a little of Two Door Cinema Club with a touch of The Kooks wrapped in a Scottish accentsand are set to be the band of the summer.  They have already enjoyed radio play on BBC Radio Scotland's Introducing show.  Check out their singles Electricity and Crazy.  Go to Videos to check out their single Crazy.

Bigging up the local Scottish music scene again with a new album from Glasgow band PAWS called Youth Culture Forever.  A line from the cartoon Adventure Time when Finn yells "Youth Culture Forever" after being told he was too young to know what he was doing (sidenote: I freaking love Adventure Time!). Youth Culture Forever is much beefier and louder than their last album Cokefloat which in my opinion is a brilliant ablum.  Songs definitley worth a listen are, 'Erruer Humaine', 'Great Bear' and 'War Cry'.  Check them out on Facebook and listen to their entire first album Cokefloat and follow the links below." target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://

Check out the band Glass Animals - a four piece from Oxford.  Have a listen to their latest single - Pools which is a breezy electro pop number.  I can imagine listening to this on a warm sunny day lazing at the beach.  Follow the link below to stream the single.
